SOTW: “Everyone But You”

If I could pick one singer — and this time we’re talking actual, honest-to-god, gifted vocalists, aka the opposite of Isaac Brock — to rip out his vocal chords and get them surgically inserted into my throat by Joe Paterno, it would be Hrishikesh Hirway of The One AM Radio. Not only is his voice unique, but he also possesses an incredibly nonchalant delivery that makes oh so envious. I mean he actually pulls off using the word “abhor” in the song above! Multiple times even!! Talent!!

Anyway, I recently picked up his new album, Heaven Is Attached By A Slender Thread. He’s always made music somewhere between electronica and singer/songwriter-y acoustic stuff, but I admit that I was initially surprised by how “dance-y” this new one is. It took a few listens, but I’m definitely sold. He writes songs/lyrics that are just too good not to like. Recommended.

  1. Okay, I like this. Good work team.
On another note, we need to vote on whether Calth ought to buzz his head. My vote is yes.
