B. Fleischmann: “As If”

B. Fleischmann’s Welcome Tourist (2003) has been on my “to-buy” list for probably around 6 or 7 years now. Can’t remember where I initially heard about it, but a few weeks ago I finally came across the album and had to pick it up. In terms of chill electronic albums, I think it’s nearly flawless. I say nearly because at the end of the first disc (it’s a double album, the second disc being a single 45-minute song) he tries to sing and kind of kills the mood. Up until that point though, it’s a great listen in the vein of Four Tet, early M83, the Notwist, etc.

Ok so i was on the tracks and i was listening to this song which is good and i want this album and my eyes strayed to the live Wilco performance, which you have apparently had up for awhile since it was in september and wow. Let me just say, Wilco fans wet dream. Im 40 mins in and when i least expect it, BAM im hit with Jesus etc. Oh man, oh, man. Nels Cline is the fucking man.
