Leveling for Mogwai: “Batcat”

Despite his best efforts to move it up a week, it is now officially Mogwai Week for Team Slayer member Merlin: Friday is his first live Mogwai experience. This is big for him. He’ll probably be emotional, so I’ve asked him to carry around his gournal and write his thoughts in it every day for a guest post here on The Tracks following the show. We can only hope it’s full of WoW references and rocks. Lots of rocks.

Since we all know one does not simply walk into a live Mogwai show, let’s get Merlin’s eardrums prepped for the big day with a little live Mogwai training. In this course we will train his ‘drums ability to withstand a constant onslaught of guitar noise and a pounding rhythm section.

Please farm 10 “Batcat’s” from Special Moves above.

In lesser men, this track can lead to weak knees and an intense longing for Ben Gibbard. However, with the proper training, one can attain the necessary skill level to withstand this attack and perhaps learn to headbang in the process (not covered in this Mogwaiwiki and completely dependent on the individual’s preexisting “rhythm”).

Tomorrow: Learning to anticipate (and enjoy) The Surprise Attack.
