Old Toby

Whelp, here i am. After our unparalleled dedication to the tracks (for god knows what reason), me and Merlin have been upgraded to the highest of the slaying honors. So please just take a minute to recognize us….   Thanks.

I would like to begin my first post with a song that pretty much has it all, “The Cedar Room” by the Doves. Yes, i realize Matt just recently posted about this album, but this song has literally been stuck in my head for a year (so now it’s your turn). Let me break it down for you as Will Smith would a club in South Beach.

1. Its 7.5 mins. This song is an experience, like riding a dolphin into the sunset. You don’t want it to end, ever. It sucks you in and there’s no going back.

2. The lyrics. So simple. So simple, precious. But man do they hit you where it hurts. The whole song has kind of a hazy feel and smell to it (which leads into my next point).

3. LOTR. When i listen to this i think of Gandalf and Mr. Bilbo puffin on some Old Toby (or Longbottom Leaf is you prefer), just before Mr. Bilbo has to go and see the elves. So it’s kinda depressing and serious, but i know it has to be done.

4. I. cant. stop. listening. to. it. It’s like when you’re running up the play count on all of you’re 3EB songs and you’re scared someone you don’t know will come over and check out you’re itunes and totally judge you in the face.

So ya, i pretty much didn’t say anything i wanted to, but sit back, bust out your 14″ pipe, and enjoy.
