I spend a lot of my time using my brain for brain-thoughts. I while ago I conceived a slay-thought that really brought me to my blogging knees: Music is like food.
Yes, I know you are wondering which IPA I had been quaffing at the time of said consummation, but I really believe I am onto something here. There may be days when I’m pretty space-cadet, but it is not this day!
Let me give you some examples:
Bread: Wilco
Scrambled eggs: The Flaming Lips
Oatmeal: Mogwai
Vegetable casserole: Broken Social Scene
Roasted duck: Radiohead
Candy: All of the shit you hear on the radio
The suggested daily intake of music directly correlates with that of food, otherwise you will get sick to your stomach. Just some thought for food.
This goes along with my theory that music is like couch pillows, curious to hear everyone else’s analogy
Your slay-thought is very interesting indeed. Pavement = beer. Built To Spill = late-night sandwiches made from leftovers…
For me, music is like seasons. Early Pinback = Spring, GBV, Afghan Whigs = Summer, Pavement, late Pinback = Fall, MBV, various Shoegaze, Archers = Winter, etc.
Calth, please elaborate on this couch pillows theory.
Well, sometimes you find food under your couch pillows…
I qualify for the parade
