Closing out…

So, right. I’m in the midst of some coulda-been dregs at the moment, as my prospective castle is a thing of the past after a last-minute offer came in and was accepted by the sellers. Such is life, and I’m currently finding a degree of solace in feigned nods to predestination and a sixer of Two-Hearted. But anywayz, the main thrust of this post is not repine, but my recent discovery of what’ll soon be your favorite cooking blog—sorry, Andy, but at this point all that remains of TheNewCook is a stock co-ed photo and a skeletal link that, to my chagrin, falsely promises to explicate the mysterious workings of yeast. But enter Dilly Wheats.

Sample? Sample.

“Bygones. Onto the ingredients. For this bread! You will need!”

Seriously, who knew Sufjan Stevens had a bent for the gastronomic? Featuring a triple-threat, bi-continental, diet-tolerant take on the bakéd-good, the fledgling blog offers healthy dollops (that’s a cooking term, right?) of pleasantly quirk-filled saunter and liberal usage of the plural “z.” End result: an entertaining read, even for those perfectly content with their oven-based repertoire of frozen pizza and the odd chicken-finger spree—a quality shared, I hoped, by our own strip of cyber real estate….

Side note: The image above is the fourth result Google images finds for “cooking headphones.” Tags: back, black, cooking, headphones, laptop, man, music, pocket, poor. Yep, that about sums it up.

  1. Sorry to hear about the house man, but for selfish reasons, don’t drink all of the Hopslam. You should like save it for a wedding or something…

This Dillywheats is quite entertaining (Crystin from AA, no?), though I must say I do miss The New Cook.

    Also, that image is fantastic.

  2. 1. Two Hearted 6 pack indulgence > house
    2. This member of said readership actually cooks stuff. Good work partnering up with Dillywheats.
