Two Songs: “Lowest Part Is Free!” + “Freezing Point”

If I had to pick two songs to describe the visceral compulsion I feel at the end of certain tracks to stick around for the next one, it would be this sequence off of Archers of Loaf’s 1994 EP Archers of Loaf Vs. The Greatest of All Time. The seamless transition from an up-tempo rocker to a self-deprecatingĀ Loaf classic (“sleep in shit, stinking too”) is just about perfect. If Laszlo Toth ever gets it together, we’d have an unofficial rule stating that anytime someone yells “gui-tar,” the other member(s) would have to bust into a noisy, distortion-fueled guitar solo (see: “Freezing Point”, 0:49). Themz the rulez.
