Too Much Catch

A recent text exchange with Scott:

  • Scott: “Just got the new BoC [Boards of Canada]. Have you heard it?”
  • me: “Going to the city tomorrow, was going to buy it then. Do I even need to ask if it’s good?”
  • Scott: “Really good. A lot more like MHtRtC than Campfire. Definitely has that vaguely creepy but beautiful vibe. Production is awesome.”
  • me: “Looking forward to it. I really liked the one song I heard online.”
  • Scott: “Also, listen to the new Grouplove single, Ways to Go. Catchiest thing you’ll hear this week.”
  • me: “Mmm I like.”

It’s like two micro brewers discussing the quality of hops in an IPA before deciding to order two Bud Light Lime-a-Ritas*… and loving it.

Anyway, the new BoC is fantastic. How could it not be? It’s BoC. It’s a rare new album from one of the most influential artists of the last decade and a half. That said, I’d recommend ordering the one in the shiny can with the neon lettering. I hear it has lime in it.
